Michael is Operations Partner/Agency Director for First Step Recovery,
PLLP, A licensed treatment facility. He oversees daily operations,
human resources, and marketing. He also maintains First Step
Recovery's referral source network and works closely with health
insurance companies.
- First Step Recovery offers chemical dependency evaluation,
intensive and low-level outpatient treatment programs, continuing
care, and family programs. In addition, First Step Recovery
staff members are available for consultation with medical personnel
and other community agencies. The agency also serves as a
chemical dependency treatment training site for professionals.
Michael attended Moorhead State University, Moorhead (MN) and is a
graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing. He has worked as staff and charge nurse in the emergency department and intensive care at MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
- Michael served as agency director for a local addiction treatment
program for seven years before co-founding First Step Recovery.
He is co-chair of the ND Treatment Provider's Coalition and is
past President of South Valley Mental Health Association. He is a state director for the North Dakota Mental Health Association. He enjoys coaching fast pitch softball and promoting sports opportunities for girls. Michael lives in Fargo with his wife Donita and their three daughters.
