Presenter: Michael F. Gonzales, M.D., MeritCare Pain Service, Fargo, ND

  • Define the areas of the brain involved in chronic pain and some of their relationships with mood disorders such as depression.
  • List guidelines for opioid prescribing in chronic pain and some alternatives available to these patients.
